Dr Yvonne Girgis-Hanna is an experienced private GP with over 20 years of experience in general practiceand a particular interest in managing complex medical conditions and patients with multiple long-term health problems.

A graduate of the University of Cambridge, she has a broad clinical background and particular interests in women’s health, diabetes, metabolic health and the management of complex long-term medical conditions.

Having initially trained in hospital medicine, including two years in specialist renal medicine at Guy’s Hospital, Yvonne brings valuable experience in both general practice and specialist medical care. She particularly enjoys managing patients with multiple health concerns, taking a holistic approach to understanding their symptoms, medical history and individual needs.

Yvonne provides comprehensive general practice care for adults and children, with particular interests in:

Women’s health: Contraceptive advice, coil fitting (including coils used as part of menopause treatment) and contraceptive implant insertion.

Diabetes and metabolic health: Assessment and ongoing management of diabetes, metabolic syndrome and associated cardiovascular risk factors.

Chronic medical conditions: Hypertension, chronic kidney disease and the management of patients with multiple long-term conditions.

Older people’s health: Supporting older patients with complex medical needs, frailty and multiple medications.

Joint injections: Assessment and treatment of appropriate musculoskeletal conditions. Yvonne qualified from the University of Cambridge Medical School and has been a GP for over 20 years. She joined Cambridge Private Doctors in 2017 and is now one of the practice’s directors.

Alongside her clinical work, Yvonne has been actively involved in medical education for over 15 years. She has supported the Cambridge GP training programme, teaches medical students and healthcare professionals, and worked as a GP appraiser.
